Week 3 Fascial Counterstrain Apprenticeship
Four hours flies by when you’re palpating cranial sutures! Today we spent the whole class exploring and treating cranial sutures. Cranial sutures are where bones come together and interdigitate with neighboring bones. When there is dysfunction in these sutures it can not only cause local discomfort but can negatively affect the accuracy of the cranial scan (the assessment used to direst FCS treatments). What keeps being reiterated is the importance of knowing your anatomy. When you know your anatomy and the theory behind the technique it allows you to use your own treatment style. I can’t say it enough that THIS is what it is all about! My mind rejoices at this and the adventure ahead of deepening my understanding of structure and function of our bodies! So this week in addition to Dura I will be working with sutures and diving into anatomy books.
